JP Auto de-icer spray – spray it on instead of scraping, and the ice lets go of your windscreen, mirrors and side windows.

If you have no time to scrape on a frosty morning, spray the glass and the ice loosens. Without it, you're left scraping, or sitting with the engine running until the heater thaws the glass.

Trigger nozzle with three settings (closed, mist, jet), in 500 ml and 750 ml bottles, and safe on paintwork and plastic trim.

Key benefits

  • Loosens ice and frost quickly: the wipers or a scraper clear the softened layer easily, so there's no long scraping.
  • Slows refreezing: the glass doesn't ice straight back up while the heater warms the car.
  • Adjustable nozzle: mist covers the whole screen, jet targets a mirror or the wiper spindles, and closed means no accidental leaks.
  • Gentle on the car: the manufacturer states it won't damage original paintwork, chrome or plastic.

How to use it

  1. Start the engine and turn the heater onto the windscreen.
  2. Turn the nozzle to mist or jet.
  3. Spray the iced surface from the top down, from 20–25 cm away. If the wiper spindles are iced up, spray there too.
  4. The ice starts to melt shortly afterwards. Clear it with the wipers or an ice scraper.
  5. Turn the nozzle back to closed after use.

What it's not for

  • Stopping ice forming while you drive: that's what winter screenwash is for, added to the washer bottle.

De-icer spray: frequently asked questions

Will it harm my paintwork if it runs onto it?
No. The manufacturer states the de-icer spray won't damage original paintwork, chrome or plastic surfaces.

How long does it take to work?
The ice starts to melt shortly after spraying, and the wipers or a scraper then clear the loosened layer.

What are the nozzle settings for?
Mist covers the windscreen evenly, jet targets a mirror, the wiper spindles or a small icy patch. In the closed position nothing leaks out.

500 ml or 750 ml?
It's the same de-icer, only the amount differs. If your car is iced up every morning, the 750 ml bottle lasts longer.

Will the screen freeze again while I'm driving?
The de-icer slows refreezing, but on the move winter screenwash in the washer bottle does that job.

Important information

  • Flammable liquid and vapour. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames, and don't smoke while using it.
  • Harmful if swallowed; repeated swallowing may damage the kidneys. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Don't breathe the spray. If you feel unwell, call a poison centre or a doctor.
  • Keep the nozzle closed when not in use and store the bottle tightly sealed.

If your car sleeps outside and winter mornings leave you no time for long scraping, this de-icer spray is for you.
