HD deer whistle for cars – the airflow sets it off, so it warns wildlife by the road with no power, no batteries and no wiring.
If you drive wooded roads where deer cross, this whistle also announces your vehicle to animals with sound.
A pair of black self-adhesive whistles, each with two sound tubes. They start sounding from about 60 km/h (around 37 mph) and stick onto any vehicle.
Key benefits
- Fit it and forget it: no cables, no batteries, no switch. The airflow does the work.
- Two sound tubes per whistle: according to the manufacturer, the long tube helps the sound reach smaller animals too.
- On in a few minutes: clean and degrease the bumper, peel off the red backing, stick it on. No drilling.
- Barely visible: each whistle is about 40 × 50 × 20 mm, roughly the size of a matchbox, and hardly shows under the bumper.
How does it work?
The same way as blowing across the top of a bottle. On the move, air flows through the whistle and makes a sound in the tube. It needs about 60 km/h for that: any slower and the airflow isn't strong enough. There is no electronics, nothing to switch on and nothing to charge. As long as you are driving, it is working.
What to expect, and what not
The deer whistle warns, it doesn't protect. The manufacturer doesn't promise it will prevent a collision with an animal, and neither do we. What it does is announce the vehicle earlier. Speed and attention on roads with wildlife are still down to you.
- Silent at low speed: below about 60 km/h it makes no sound.
- Not a garden or pet repeller: it only works mounted on a moving vehicle.
Which vehicles does it fit?
Any: cars, vans, lorries, campervans. All it needs is a clean, smooth surface at the front where the airflow reaches the whistles freely, usually the lower part of the front bumper.
How to fit it
- Choose a spot at the front of the vehicle, ideally the lower part of the front bumper, where nothing covers the whistles.
- Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly.
- Peel the red backing off the adhesive.
- Stick the whistles on facing forward, parallel to the direction of travel.
- Press them on firmly and check they hold.
Tip: the air has to blow through the whistle's opening. If you fit it at an angle or somewhere sheltered, such as behind the number plate, the airflow can't reach it freely.

Frequently asked questions about the deer whistle
Will I hear it while driving?
The manufacturer doesn't give a sound level for the HD deer whistle, so we can't give you an exact answer. It sounds at the front of the vehicle, in the airflow, not inside the cab.
At what speed does it work?
From about 60 km/h (around 37 mph). The HD deer whistle is sounded by the airflow, so below that it stays silent.
Does it need power or batteries?
No. The deer whistle works on airflow alone, there is no electronics in it.
Will it definitely stop me hitting a deer?
No. The deer whistle is a warning accessory, and the manufacturer does not guarantee it prevents collisions.
How is it different from a single whistle?
Each of these whistles has two sound tubes, and according to the manufacturer the long tube helps warn smaller animals too.
Important information
- Only stick it on a clean, degreased, dry surface, or it may come off while driving.
- Check now and then that mud or insects haven't blocked the openings.
If you often drive above about 60 km/h on wooded roads with deer about, and there is a smooth spot at the front of your vehicle for two whistles, this deer whistle is for you.
